Chrisu 0 #1 October 29, 2001 Hi! This might be the wrong place to post this but what the hell... I recently bought my new camcorder(sony trv30) and a video capture card(hercules dv action). Now im having a litle bit trouble with the clips. When i capture the video to my PC, the preview is all jumpy and most frames stuck for a couple seconds. The "ready" movie is also like this. Can you guys tell me whats wrong here.Ive tried all different compressions and resolutions but nothing works. Many thanks in adv.
marcin 0 #2 October 30, 2001 I might be wrong, but had similar problem on my PC first (1200 processor with 512 RAM) with Pyro DV card and Ulead . Turned out to be a very high dropout rate (like 30% according to the indicator). When playing back the program freezes the last frame before the dropout and after a while continues. My friend fixed it and said that the DMA (direct memory access) has to be enabled and you can do it when configuring your Windows (or whatever you use). O% dropouts since then. He also changed my Win98 to WinMe, but said this had no impact.M.
cameramonkey 0 #3 November 5, 2001 Defanitely a hardware tweak is needed. also check to make sure you have no resource conflicts, and the system performance is optimized within the bios settings. if all else fails, call the firewire mfr, I am sure they can help.
