skychic68 0 #2 October 13, 2002 I have a Hi 8 that i download onto my computer into a Pinacle system Studio DC 10 PLus program. Works fairly well for analog and it has a lot of capabilities. Bought it for about 80 bucks on a web sight. Check it out. Think about going digital!!!!!!
diverds 0 #3 October 16, 2002 I use a 4 channel stero mixer hooked to the camera audio and a cd player to mix the music. You can buy a nice stand alone titler on ebay for around $100. Add a vcr with flying erase heads and you are off. Skydive Radio
vidiot 0 #4 October 16, 2002 Maybe this helps... - Shot your videos so they can be transfered to VHS without any cuts. - Build yourself a setup of VCR, portable TV, portable CD-Player and a simple Audio Mixer. - Burn yourself a CD with a couple of your favourite tracks (Hint: Joe Satriani works very well). - Use the above mentioned equipment to dump your video 1:1, adding some nice background music on the fly. You can do better with post-processing, but if you're doing several TDs a day you'll appreciate the simplicity ... The customers love it a) because the shoting is more important than the dubbing and b) the can watch the dubbed video 10min. after the jump. PhreeZone 20 #5 October 17, 2002 We have an entire DZ rigged up to do Tandem videos this way. Its worked quite well as long as I've been therre (2 years). In fact we have a TV out side the video editing room wired up so that the family and friends can watch the video as its being dubbed. It keeps the family/firiends/student occupied and out of the videograpers hair while dubbing and it allows everyone to see it at the same time.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
vidiot 0 #6 October 17, 2002 Having the customers watch while you dub? Interesting idea, it saves you those precious ten minutes to the next load, but having customers watch while you dub? Makes me nervous, sometines you have to do some magic tricks to have the video turn out perfect (i.e. to cover up your screw up :-). A nice idea though, 10 min less could be the next load...My Logbook
mark135 0 #7 October 18, 2002 hmmm thought everyone had the customer watch the editing. we have several editing stations that are not seperated from the general hanger population in any way. I love the way they make their oh my god comments and laugh. i dont shoot what im not using so its easy to edit. just add music._______________ "It seemed like a good idea at the time"
