mountainman 0 #2 December 7, 2001 hey there......as said in the past, I think that http://www.dbuys.com has the best deal on the PC110. About the best miniDV you can get for skydiving, from what I've heard.-------------http://www.JumpinDuo.com"oh no. Not another one"-Alienangel
PhreeZone 20 #3 December 7, 2001 PC-110 has the most features and is a mega pixel camera too. Downfall is its also the larget PC series camera yet. It sticks off the head by a bit too.The PC9 on the other hand is much smaller, lighter and cheaper too.

PhreeZone 20 #5 December 7, 2001 Depends on the end needs of the videograghper. If getting high quality digital stills are needed... PC110. Casual flying and filming from inside the formaition stuff? Either or will do nicely. Filming on a budget? PC9. Good thing about the 9 is most the stuff for the old 5 series fits it just fine
 aufreefly 0 #6 December 7, 2001 The pc110 also has a flash to be used when taking still photos. If all you are going to be doing with the camera is skydiving and filming the occasional dropzone antics then I would recommend the pc9. It is the same size as the pc5 but it accepts the same batteries that the pc110 uses. Even with the small battery I have no need to recharge on the weekends. The only other thing is that according to yahoo shopping (you will probably find the best prices there, they compare hundreds of retailers) is that the pc9 has no nightshot, which is crucial for capturing boobies at night!michael hunt (yes, that is my real name...and i've heard them all)
 PhreeZone 20 #7 December 7, 2001 Also the 110 has USB to access the memory stick and built in MPEG compression.
 DanG 1 #8 December 13, 2001 I don't know anyone who uses the still photo capability of their camera for skydiving purposes. The memory stick is for the still photos, as is the MPEG compression. The only time I use the still capability on my PC-5 is to rip shots off of the DV tape. Then, it doesn't matter that your still camera has megapixel resolution, because your DV tape doesn't.Get the PC-9 if you really want a new camera, or try to find a used PC-5 on eBay.- Dan G
 mountainman 0 #9 December 14, 2001 Hey danG....i think a lot of people (myself included) would use the flash. not skydiving, but for vacations and family stuff. if you are going to use it for everything, I would go with flash.-------------JumpinDuo.com...news, guestbook, and links. Some of the camera guys at my DZ have had the jack plug socket wear out, thus meaning a lack of camera until fixed or replaced. The PC110 has laserlink and can just send the video straight over the ether without being plugged up! Neat. Stops sockets wearing out too.B
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
