diverds 0 #1 March 28, 2002 Thought it would be interesting to see what everyone is using for video editing. Please state your system (pc or mac), processor speed, ram, hd space, and what software you use.-Dave"Gas...Undercarriage...Mixture...Prop...Beer"

quade 4 #3 March 28, 2002 I have a couple of computers at my disposal, but the one I take to the drop zone and use most often is an Apple iBook -- 400mhz, FireWire, 10 gig drive, iMovie software. Perfect for the average little DZ video. For larger projects, I also take along a Maxtor 60 gig FireWire drive and fire up Final Cut Pro.For my 4-way team this last weekend, I delivered their dubs to them on DVD. I had to "borrow" the DVD burner from work for that, but it was very well received by the team as they have crystal clear slo-mos and stop frames.quadehttp://futurecam.com
jdhill 0 #4 March 28, 2002 The home system... Mac G4 Dual 450; 1.5G Ram; 70G StorageThe Road system... Mac iBook 500; 640mb Ram; 20G Storage (plus a 60G Firewire drive)Premier 6.01 on both... will most likely migrate to Final Cut Pro 3 due to OS X (Premier does not work with that OS)... I also use Photoshop, After Effects, and DVD Studio Pro to output to DVD.For simple passthrough editing I use a Panasonic AVE-3 mixer and Videonics Titlemaker 3000PeaceJoshhttp://www.aerialfusion.com

airdrew20012001 0 #7 March 28, 2002 Ok, I get the cheezy low budget award of the day:A really cheap-o mixer board the only really controls whether the audio comes from the camera output or the cd player plugged in below. It is all real time editing (ie mix the video in as the audio is playing with the camera in your lap) with camera effects, mostly slow motion. If you want to get fancy you put a part of the video and music down, hit pause on the recording VCR and cd at the same time then unpause again when you get the camera running at the spot you want. Oddly enough, once you get good at it you can make some pretty happy tandem video and the passengers seem to dig it. LIttle more rough, not as seemless as the computer cna do but what you gonna do.Drewfus McDoofus
