this is a cross post from talkback forum. I am trying to use abode premeire 6.0 so tthis whole post refers to it. if any of you can help me I would appreciate it ALOT!

Ive tried using every available format on the first screen but i still cant use the darn thing! so needless to say I am frustrated and need some help. can any of you answer any of these questions. I looked in the users guide but didnt find ANYTHING about "IMPORTING" video! the only thing I see is CAPTURING video. but i want to use existing video clips that I have taken from around this rock!

simply use ctrl+ i and browse to find yuour file, in work find with vid format and mp3, this work on premiere 6.0 I never tried older version

You can just click and drag the video or mp3 file you want right into the Premier window. It will then show up in the bin and from there you can drag it into the timeline.

How are you importing your video in to the system? What kind of camera do you use?
Once in your system your video should be in the .avi format. The music should be in the .wav format.

I will try those things again. I havwent tried the drag and drop method. maybe thatll work....

For the sound you can use lots of format for myself I use MP3 because they are small files, for importating my video I use a firewire card and it work really fine.
Which version of premiere you use ?

I have no idea why I cant use the program.
what is fire wire? Do I need a special card for this? I though if I could play the vid and hear the music that it would work in the premier porgram?

Firewire is a very fast way to transfer data. Digital video cameras use it to transfer video in realtime from the camera to a storage device (such as a computer). If you already have the video in your computer, you will not need a firewire card.
Was your "borrowed" copy installed from original media? I'd try reinstalling from an original disk, not a cracked installer or a burned ISO. Also check the About box in the program to make sure that you have a full version and not a trial or timedemo.
If that doesn't work, try hitting Premier-related message boards asking for help (don't expect much help if they think you are using a pirated copy). Maybe buy a book from Amazon.

cool thanks for the info..I am pretty sure it is a full version but I will check. it is a crack but my buddy was using it so I know it works. I may have missed as tep in the install process. HMM! I wish he was still in korea so I could ask him wtf he did to use it?!
