oxygn velcro

How difficult is it to replace the velcro on the oxygn helmets? My helmet is in desperate need of some new velcro and I've heard conflicting reports about this.

well, i have no clue, i don't own on. but from what i've seen, and stuff, it would seem to be pretty difficult. not a whole lot of extra room to get it under the sewing machine to replace the pile. i assum the hook is like super glued on.

Sky Systems has a kit to replace both sides of the velcro. I had the factory replace mine and the liner, so I don't know how difficult it is, but it can't be that hard.

Its not too hard. You need to untie a knot in some small thread and undo a crimped connector and put a new one on. The only hard part is making the loop the same length so you dont pull the velcro past the opening in the helmet.

ps this is all on my factory diver but dont think the oxgyn would be any different.

You can always have a rigger install a snap, then you dont have to deal with velcro anymore.

ditto...get a snap. Works like a charm and you'll never have to worry about it again. Many riggers will do it, or if you have a handy person around the DZ, they might be talked into it for a beer or two.
