Experience w/ Fusion?

Recommended Posts

The Nitron is a 9-cell elliptical main. Some reviews are here. The Fusion is listed as "coming soon" on PA's website.

As for availability, the Nitron order form is available on PA's website, so I would assume that you can buy one if you want. The Fusion apparently hasn't been released yet, or the website is out of date. I'd email Precision (sales@precision.net or info@precision.net).

At least that's what I think it's called, Precision's 7-cell answer to the Spectre and Tri, "Fusion."

Anyone dz.commers jumped one? What's the verdict?

Go check out para-gear. The fusion is the entry level 9 cell (sabre 2 class, I'm assuming), the Nitron is the HP nine cell, and the Synergy is the 7 cell.

edited to make the link work.

Fusion = Mid-level 9 cell (like a Sabre 2)
Synergy = 7 cell
Nitron = HP eliptical (like a stiletto)

Having flown all of these canopies, I can tell you that they are truly an awesome line of products.

The Fusion is a very responsive, fun to fly 9-cell planform. They are being sold, you just have to ask for them. We've gotten smaller ones and very large ones (in fact, we have a 280 sq. ft. Fusion that we use for big AFF students, and they love it). It's a great canopy, with great openings.

The Synergy is your standard Precision 7-cell canopy. Very nice openings, stable planform, long control range, great sink rate. It's a great Demo canopy, as well as being sporty enough to play around and throw a stack together with.

The Nitron is probably one of the finest Stiletto-class canopies out there. I like the turn rate of the Stiletto better, but the overall opening-through-landing performance of the Nitron is the best out there, IMO.

I've never even seen one of these, much less flown one, and I haven't heard anybody talk about them much. How do they stack up against stuff like crossfire 2's, samuri's and Cobalts/CoCos?

I had a Nitron and really liked it. I can't really compare it to much though b/c it was my first zp canopy and I never did much with it (never touched the front risers, etc). There are some guys at Chester, SC and at Gold Coast that have them & they LOVE them. They have nice openings too.

And yes, they have HMA lines... I think I prefer microlines myself.

I owned one (Nitron), got one of the first production models when they were being sold at 50% off. Good learning canopy, great speed, better decent rate than the Stiletto (steeper on the nitron which I like). Great bottom end. Sold it to a guy at Gold Coast and bought a Velocity. I perfer HMA and Vectran over Spetra. Good little canopy, although I love my Velocity and have found that a Jedie 105 I have also will surf like a madman.
