MrHixxx 0 #1 June 28, 2002 Anyone using digital still cameras effectively yet? I have a PC110 on an Optik, but I am holding out on stills until next season. I would really like to stay digital with everything since my PC and printer can print/edit excellent photo quality images. If anyone is doing digital stills or objecting to doing digital stills, lets hear your thoughts. thanx, Hixxxdeath,as men call him, ends what they call men -but beauty is more now than dying’s when
jdhill 0 #2 June 28, 2002 there are several folks out there using digitals, Mike McGowan, Craig O'brian, and some others... Mike was using an Olympus E-10 at one time, he may have upgraded by now. I think Craig uses a Canon... I use a Olympus E-20, it has its limitations (#of shots during a jump) but takes nice pictures (several published in Skydiving and Parachutist including a PF)... the Canon D-30 seems to do well, definitely gets more pictures during a jump, and the D60 looks like it has potential... Price is still the big sticking point ($1500-$2500). Josh www.aerialfusion.com
Canuck 0 #3 June 28, 2002 There are two cam fliers at my little DZ up here, and we both use digital stills. I just have a little cheapo HP, the other guy is using a Canon Powershot G2, which is still comparatively cheap at $1200 Canadian which is about $800 US. It's a 4 megapixle camera and takes great shots, and fast! Now, here's the catch. This guy is a electronics wiz. He has opened up both our cameras and built in a circuit to eliminate the shot delay - push the button, instant picture. Anyway, digital is the way to go, especially for tandems. We print them on sight and have the pics in their hands in 5 minutes. Once they see em, they bought em! Canuck
