airdrew20012001 0 #1 June 28, 2002 I already have a full set up for doing RW, AFF< and tandems and have been doing them for a while. THe thing is, when I am doing fun jumps the last thing I want to do is put on my batrack with both cameras. My thinking is that I would like to get a freefly, video only setup. I have had sensational good experiences with my TRV 17. I have noticed that you can pick up a PC 1 for pretty cheap. What do those of you who have used one think of the PC1?Drewfus McDoofus
jdhill 0 #2 June 28, 2002 perfectly fine camera... battery life on the small battery is lacking, but the medium size battery is fine, particulary if it is in a D-boxAll that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke
tommy 0 #3 June 28, 2002 I jumped a PC1 for about 2 yrs, and then it suddenly died - so I bought a PC9 to replace it. The battery life on the PC9 is exponentially better than the PC1. With the PC1 (s series batts), I had 3 medium size batts which I'd have to switch out every other jump (one on camera, 2 charging). Quite a pain when doing back to back tandem vids. I can jump pretty much jump all day on one medium PC9 (m series) battery. PC1 is much more of a 'friendly' skydiving cam than the PC9. A/V ports, LANC, etc are in the front. Hard buttons for fade, etc. Unless you get a KILLER deal on the PC1, I'd pass and get a newer camera with the M series batts - it's worth it alone (to me anywayz) to have the peace of mind.
