What about the 0.6 lense

Recommended Posts

The Sony .6 is a good general lens, I use it to video tandems, students, RW etc. Some of the freeflyers at our dz also use it, but one has a wider lens (.4 ?? that # may be wrong) for flying up-close and personal.

Part of the choice will depend on what type/mfg, and how close you will be flying to others. If you tend to get much separation, go too wide angle and your subjects can look a mile away even if your only 10 or 20 feet apart.

If you have access to different lenses (through either the store or other jumpers), try setting up your camera, see how big people appear at various distances while on the ground and use this as a basis compared to your flying style.

Hope this helps somewhat, let me know

thanks fuzzy

I'll go with a .6 I don't plan to do something really special until I'll get a couple of jumps with the camera. I tried to find a .5 but it's not easy, here in Quebec. So the .6 is cheap and sold everywhere..

thanks a lot !!

Good Luck with the camera flying, have lots of fun with it. But always remember to play safe.

I'll find out exactly what lens # and brand the one guy is using (& how he likes it), then you'll at least have it for future reference.

I use a sony .06 for 4 way video and tandems. But for freeflying I find it way to narrow so I have a kenco .42 that I use. You can find all these lenses online at pierltd.com or bhphotovideo.com Also Max cohn has an excellent .03 lens that I wish I owned for freeflying its real small so it limits your chances or catching your risers on your lens opening. and Its a real nice lens
