Lens Filters

Polarizing could be useful in some certain instances, but for 99 percent of what you'll shoot, it's just going to eat up light and give you limited results. I wrote a reponce a little while back on the 1 percent useful stuff and what you'd have to deal with.

Elsewise, you might want to consider a simple UV or "skylight" filter just to protect the front of the actual lens.
