Deuce 1 #1 August 20, 2002 The Airtools site shows they have a prewired "extension" for the unit. My 2.5mm jack isn't functioning right, and I need to replace it. I'd just as soon use a prewired one, but failing that, does anyone know how to wire up a replacement jack from Radio Shack? If I play hit and miss with the replacement jack will I fry the electronics in the switch? JP
Deuce 1 #2 August 20, 2002 Man, this is world-class whorage. Answering my own posts, lamelamelame. Anyhow, the studs at Skytools (not airtools, idiot) emailed me a schematic to do it myself. Thought I'd share with you their superior customer service. JP John, We have had three different generations of cables and as I'm not aware of when your CamEye was manufactured I'll make a list of all the types. Oldest to the left and newest to the right. --------------------\ _________|____|_____/ SLEVE(S) RING(R) TIP(T) Old newest S BROWN BLACK BLACK R GREEN WHITE BROWN T WHITE RED RED Let me know if it's unclear and Ill see if I can arrange a photo or a drawing. Deuce 1 #4 August 20, 2002 Oh, man, say it isn't so. Was it fixable? How much?
diverds 0 #5 August 20, 2002 One of the jumpers at our dz had the same problem with the lanc port on his pc-110. He had to send the camera in to get it fixed. His was still covered under the warranty so I do not know how much it would cost to get it fixed. Skydive Radio

diverds 0 #9 August 21, 2002 QuoteMy PC-110 is going to cost about 250 to repair. Is that just for the lanc port or is there anything else wrong with it? Skydive Radio
PhreeZone 20 #10 August 21, 2002 Thats the base on any/all repairs needed. All thats having issues is the Lanc and DV ports (Same circuit board). But for the warrenty to stay valid Sony has to work on it. They have a base price for all labor. I've also been told they will clean the camera and replace anything else they find issues with.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
diverds 0 #11 August 21, 2002 Can't you get it fixed at a local electronics shop for less? If it is not under waranty any more I mean. Skydive Radio
WmLauterbach 0 #12 August 21, 2002 i have a PC-1 with some cameye2 issues........ i was wearing it side mounted, had a cutaway, and the riser hit the camera, breaking the tip of the cameye off inside of the camera..... it still works, but of course the LANC port is temporarily out of commision.... finding a plug the same size is quite a chore .... none of the 'YUMA' area radio shacks have that size plug.... looks like i am gonna have to order one... and of course there is still the issue of 'digging' the tip out of the LANC port........ well... at least my regular camera system is still intact! blue skies and good shooting....
