mountainman 0 #1 August 27, 2002 OK, now that I've been thinking about all of your input on the wide-angle lenses, I looked into some other kinds and am wondering this: what does the number by the lens mean? I see Diamond .3, Kenko .43, and Titanium .45 to name a few. Can someone explain what the numbers mean? Thanks. http://www.brandonandlaura.com
PhreeZone 20 #2 August 27, 2002 the numbers are the amount of angle the lens sees. .65 is just slightly wide angle (great to shoot RW with) .5 is a medium wide angel (great all around that you want some distance with. .43 is considered to be Ultra wide angle and is nice with 5-6 feet distance at the max for good shots. The .3 is great for arms reach flying since its an extremely ultrawide... What the numbers mean I forget but just note a Kenko .5 is not the same angle as a Promaster .5 and neither of those match a Sony .5...Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
cmareco 0 #3 August 27, 2002 Hello there, The numbers are conversion factors, for example: Your camera lens is a 50mm, if you attach one Diamond .3 you will have a 15mm (50*0.3=15). If the lens have a conversion factor like .3 or .45 it will open you angle of view (wide angle), if the conversion factor is like 2 or 3 it will reduce or angle of view (zoom in). I hope it helps you.
