allrightscud 0 #1 September 20, 2002 Apart from in the bedroom, has anyone used there camera helmet set up for something other than skydiving? I'm thinking about trying it out this winter when I go skiing. I would like to get some "skiing through the trees" type shots. Or go-kart racing, driver footage. Any comments? Tom. Too much is never enough! All right scud?

Deuce 1 #5 September 20, 2002 yeah, the one I saw from a motorcyclist was OK. The rider's body absorbs most of the vibration before it gets to the head. The new Sony's have great image stabilization, that's what Tosh has.
SniperCJ 0 #6 September 21, 2002 Ive actually offered to wear mine when we do entries during SWAT raids and such, but the commander wont let me go without the kevlar helmet to wear the helmet cam. Woulda been pretty helpful on the one where I almost shot the guy... JC
riggerrob 643 #7 September 21, 2002 Don't rush it sniper. They already have video cameras rigged to sniper's telescopic sights so that police chiefs can second-guess the shooter. If you insist on wearing your camera helmet on a raid, then strap your camera to the side of a Bonehead carbon fibre G3 (or whatever they call this week's fashion in freefly helmets). The carbon fibre will slow down schrapnel.
