steve1 5 #1 September 23, 2002 I know this may be a poor choice of camera for sky diving purposes, but I'm trying to make do with what I already have. But anyway, I was wondering if it is possible to attach a wide angle lens onto a Sony, Handicam, Hi-8, video-camera? Thanks, Steve1
Cajones 0 #2 September 23, 2002 Almost certainly. I have jumped several 8mm format cameras, and a VHS-C (long time ago). So long as there are threads on the lens, you should be able to find all kinds of wide angle lenses for the camera. If you're not sure, take the camera with you to most any camera store that sells camcorders, and they should be able to tell you exactly what you need. The laws of physics are strictly enforced. If you have your model number they will know EXACTLY what you need.
jimmytavino 16 #4 September 23, 2002 As I recall most all the early Sony Tr series 8mm and Hi-8 camera will accept a wide angle lens, providing the thread sizes are compatible. Be prepared to buy adapter rings if needed, to enable a lens to mate to the camera... also, be advised that your focusing can be affected, if you zoom the camera while it is wearing a wide angle lens...i.e. a wide angle lens, when zoomed to telephoto, can get fuzzy...
