rmcvey 0 #1 October 11, 2002 can you heat the top of a bonehead with a heatgun until it goes soft enough to shape in an effort to create a "flattop" for camera/s???? has anyone tried this? does anyone have any doubts to whether it would/could work? nacmacfeegle 0 #2 October 11, 2002 I doubt if it would work, but if you try, can you post pics......... Seriously tho, I'd contact Bonehead direct or speak to Jeangenie, who posts here from time to time.....-------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. AggieDave 6 #3 October 11, 2002 What if you just bought the carbon fiber mounting kit for flat top camera from Bonehead? That'd be the easiest and safest way to do it.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
YahooLV 0 #4 October 11, 2002 I'd call BONEHEAD before doing anything. Application of extreme heat may do more than you think to the integrity of the helmet.http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
rmcvey 0 #5 October 12, 2002 BooooooooringI fired up the heatgun this afternoon and gave it a go, and quickly realised it wasnt going to work. The carbon fibre starts to "crinkle" and looks nasty. Luckliy I tried it on only a small area. Oh well, nothing ventured....
konradptr 0 #6 October 21, 2002 Yea, I thought that one of the advantages in carbon fiber, or at least some types, was it's resistance to heat and stuff... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......
