wlie 0 #1 October 29, 2002 While researching on a Stroboframe, I happened to find certain anti-twist plates. 3 questions: 1) Do you use one, and if so, how necessary? 2) Which plate should I get for a Rebel X as I can't find one mentioning it. 3) Do you use one for your top-mounted camcorder as well? And what kind of camcorder are you using? ThanksMy other ride is the relative wind.

And what kind of camcorder are you using? 1) Yes. For my D60. Helps a LOT to keep things aligned exactly right. If you use the cork pad, it WILL have a tendancy to twist a bit over time and so things get slightly out of alignment. Then again, I'm an alignment freek. BTW, for the D60, the "generic" anti-twist plate works just fine. 2) I don't know about the Rebel X. I had a Rebel 2000 and ordered the "generic" anti-twist plate, but for a couple of little reasons I can't exactly remember right off the top of my head, it -didn't- fit exactly right, so I went back to the cork pad. 3) I use a Bonehead dBox for my TRV style top mount video camera. I HAVE thought it might be cool to use a StroboFrame mount for a video camera, but the TRV style doesn't lend itself to doing that because of the bottom loading tape system.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
wlie 0 #3 October 29, 2002 Thanks Quade! Actually I had purchased my Strobo used. It didn't have any nuts & bolts, or the cork thingy. I had a similar experience with a camera twisting around the tripod screw. The base had one of them cork pads, and the way I fixed it was using double-sided tape in it's place. BTW, the above mentioned was happening on a Velbon 475? tripod with the camera going sideways. My other ride is the relative wind.
stevebabin 0 #4 October 31, 2002 I have a Rebel XS and I use the "generic" 35mm SLR anti-twist plate. It works great. Steve Babin"Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon.
