blackwidow 0 #3 November 4, 2002 Mostly freeflying. Although I will be using the camera for many non-skydive purposes also.

The Micro Mv isn't a real friendly skydive camera from what I have seen. The record control is on the right side of the camera, instead of the back, like most of the other sony camera's. And most camera brackets, and helmet's, are made for a left mounted camera, so turning it on and pressing record will be difficult. If you wanted to top mount it, then you wouldn't have a problem. Also It doesn't have a LANC port so the CameyeII wont work with it. This might not be a problem if your only using it for fun jump's, but for 4way, and Tandems its a good idea to have an indicator light, and the cameye is the best one out there. The tapes for the MV are also real expensive. Pro: The Micro mv is a very small and lightweight camera. The Pc 101 is a very good camera. It is set up like most skydive camera's used today. So helmet's and bracket's will match up nicely. I suggest you look at the camera's first personally. Check out your options. Good luck Ray Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of! bobsoutar 0 #7 November 4, 2002 I've got a PC9 and it is excellent - easy to use, dv in & out, fairly small and good quality videos. I think that the 101 is similar and an updated version of the PC9.
Cajones 0 #8 November 4, 2002 Out of those two - the 101. The IP series records in MPEG (the IP7's image is noticeably lower quality), doesn't have a firewire port (eventually you will want to share footage with other skydivers), and is difficult to operate with standard mounts. The laws of physics are strictly enforced.
