nacmacfeegle 0 #1 November 13, 2002 http://members.chello.hu/mezei.attila/dvtools/index.html for some trial sofware to possibly solve this perrennial problem. The fully licensed version is 98 bucks. I will try this out and report back, but would appreciate appreciate input from others, as my library of NTSC footage is rather limited... That is all. cheers Dave-------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. gus 1 #2 November 13, 2002 I haven't used the Pal<>NTSC converter but I bought the "aDVanced DV File Converter". When I emailed him (?) about a bug I found he fixed it almost immediately and had an update on the website almost as soon. His customer service seems very good, as do his products. nacmacfeegle 0 #4 November 14, 2002 Will it convert Ntsc to Pal, and vice versa, without producing field dominance, or interlacing problems, I don't think so...But am open to a little correction.. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. wlie 0 #5 November 14, 2002 Dunno 'bout field dominance, but I take it that the picture appears pixelated (if there's even such a word) as in interlacing problems? Well I ran a test by capturing an NTSC movie, saved it as (.mov) NTSC, then converted it to (.mpg) PAL - never got around to playing much with QT - and the result was more pixelated than the original. So I guess you're right. BTW, the test was done on the following conditions so feel free to critique. - eMac running OS X 10.1.4 - QuickTime Pro 5 for edits, conversion, ++ - Captured movie using Formac Tevion 1.2 (SW) and Formac Studio (Analog Digital converter HW) My other ride is the relative wind.
