Unutsch 0 #1 November 19, 2002 Hi, there. I'm not new to the sport, but I am new to the video editing of our jumps. First of all, I have a lot of our jumps saved on my computer (Athlon 1.8, 384 DDR, GeForce 4 MMX)in .avi format, captured from a DV camera. I am using Adobe Premiere 6.5 for editing (I still learn it every night from 22:00 to 02:00, the progress I make is measured in nanometers ) and capturing pics. And when I capture a pic, it get's all blury. PLEASE, FILL ME IN IN HOW ALL OF YOU MASTERS OF THE SKY-FRAMES DO THIS!!! I've read some of the posts describing the same problems as I have, but just don't understand them. konradptr 0 #2 November 19, 2002 I haven't spent too much time trying to capture stills using Premiere, because when I tried it, the interlacing made it look like I had ghosts, and the files were WAY too big. I guess my suggestion to your problem would be to use the photo option on your Sony, (I hope you have a Sony, otherwise my suggestion is worthless). If you don't have the video on tape, just on the hard drive, put them back onto tape with Premiere export, and then click off pictures onto a memorystick... Hope you have a Sony... Casch 0 #3 November 19, 2002 When all else fails: Run the avi and pause where you want the pic and hit CTRL+PRINT SCREEN and paste into an image editing program. It's a bit of an arcane way to go about things but it works.
psw097 0 #4 November 19, 2002 In Premier 6.0 I capture the stills I want to HDD. I then use another program to de-interlace the BMP file. If I plan on using it for a project, I'll leave it in BMP, otherwise I convert to JPG. For de-interlacing I use a shareware program: PolyView 3.83. There are better programs but the price is right for this one. For conversion I normally use ACDSee. Hope this helps. Webster
Kris 0 #5 November 20, 2002 QuoteWhen all else fails: Run the avi and pause where you want the pic and hit CTRL+PRINT SCREEN and paste into an image editing program. It's a bit of an arcane way to go about things but it works. 90% of the time, that won't work. On most video cards, video is sent directly to the frame-buffer on the video card. It saves a lot of processing power because all the OS has to do is tell the card where (X,Y) on the monitor to place the video, what size to scale it to, and then let it flow. If you try to do a print-screen, you'll usually end up with a black or pink background where the video should be. How to get around this: some video player software will have a frame/screen-capture button that will hit the buffer on the card and pull the current frame into regular memory so it can be saved as a picture file. Unutsch 0 #7 November 20, 2002 guys, thanks a lot!!! I finally decided to try it with VirtualDub, I downloaded it, installed it, tried it - and wanted to sell my computer. It works with all of the clips that a friend of mine downloaded from the net, but as soon as I tried to capture the pics from our movies, the programm stated that I do not have the VfW codec (pissed me OFF ). So I guess I'll have to go to the friend , by whom I uploaded the movies from a miniDV to the computer and take all of the codecs he has. Oh, I guess this is just not my week for computer shit - as I downloaded the norton internet security and installed it, I wanted to learn again the Premiere 6.5 and shit, noticed that all of the files were erased, only the folders stayed, , same for Word, Excell, and some other programs!!!!!! cameramonkey 0 #9 November 21, 2002 in Premiere, get the pic you want in the preview window. click the image. go to export, frame. save it in bmp. open it in photoshop LE (it came with my copy of Prem.) go to filters, video, deinterlace. save it, and you should have a good pic. if its still blurry, it could be you arent shooting your video in sports mode. hope that helps. Two wrongs don't make a right, however three lefts DO!
