Windows Movie Maker?

Recommended Posts

I just saw a segment on tech tv on it. It looks like a pretty nice program for basic editing. It has quite a few transitions and several special effects as well as the ability to compress to many different file formats or work with .avi files. It probably does not have some of the higher end features like Premier or Final Cut though. On the show they said it may be offered free as part of Windows XP.

Kevin,

I was recently using this sorry ass software program for my scuba diving, (I'm fairly new to skydiving and don't have enough dives for skydiving videography).
One can only splice and chop. Fading doesn't work well. Nor can one slow the speed of the shop to make a slow motion effect (actually you can be then you loss a lot of the picture). Bottom line is its not the greatest.:(
