Cajones 0 #4 December 11, 2002 Sounds like a video card conflict. Often this can be fixed by turning the "Hardware Acceleration" part or all the way down while using Premiere. The sound issue may be a settings problem, or a render problem. It may take some experimentation to find the frequency you want to import with. The real frustration comes when Premiere will not render wav files properly to match your desired output. Using a third-party plug-in adds time and money to projects. jdhill 0 #6 December 11, 2002 Check your capture settings, make sure you have the "capture audio" box checked. Have you been able to capture any video+sound with P6.5? XDV 0 #7 December 11, 2002 I'm able the capture sound and video, but for only two tapes it doesn't work... I don't know what is wrong for those two tapes
jdhill 0 #8 December 11, 2002 If you have access to a second camera, you may want to try to make copies of the tapes and then try to capture from the compies. XDV 0 #10 December 17, 2002 I found a solution, it's really weird, there is what I tried. 1- premiere 6.0 and 6.5 (don't work) 2- try a pc-5 and a pc-101 (don't work) 3- make a firewire copy (don't work) 4- try Avid and finnaly that work so now why all the tape work in premiere exept 2 of them ( those 2 have been firewire from lots of tape to do a master) and why they work in Avid
Cajones 0 #11 December 17, 2002 I don't think it's wierd. Avid is far less troublesome than Premiere. The laws of physics are strictly enforced.
nacmacfeegle 0 #12 December 17, 2002 You sound bitter Cajones.... I should be too, but I'm over all that now..You know what I mean. There are two 'audio layers' on DV tape, I didn't know this till last nite when I was pissing around with my mini DV tape deck. If the sound isn't there via firewire, or playing on different cameras etc, then maybe its because the original sound was screwed up. Does Avid capture both these layers?.... -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Cajones 0 #13 December 17, 2002 Avid is just smarter, actually. I don't know the details, save that Avid recognizes different types of avi files. miniDV is conventionally different than what this sounds like. I have seen the same scenario when avi's were exported back to tape in the "other" format, accidentally. The intention was to then capture the avi into Premiere for encoding with a Premiere specific plug-in. Premiere was not able to pick up the sound-track, but it was captured, using Avid. It'd be odd that a "master" (i.e. unedited raw camera footage) was somehow recorded in a different format. The laws of physics are strictly enforced.
