jose 0 #3 January 13, 2003 I am about to embark on the same task, on the same helmet. I dont plan on using a blow tube as I am flying video. Any suggestions that are cleaner than gaffers tape ( which I plan to use if I cant find a better way). Thanks

Check to make sure the rest of the button on the inside the helmet won't be protruding into your head in some way. -- Hook high, flare on time
airchilo 0 #5 January 16, 2003 Will this work the same way with a bonehead on a PC-7, which you have to use the LANC on?

base704 0 #8 January 19, 2003 Cam-eye plugs into lanc port...right side, top, aft... The camera is a pc101You can get a lot more done with a kind word and a gun than with a kind word alone.

OmriMon 0 #10 January 19, 2003 is the lanc port on the pc101 located at the same place as the pc9?
base704 0 #11 January 19, 2003 Does it look like I have? The setup is new...It'll be trimmed after I put a couple jumps on it. If it ever warms up. You can get a lot more done with a kind word and a gun than with a kind word alone.

OmriMon 0 #15 January 19, 2003 argh! anyway, if the lanc port is on the right side facing the bracket, how does the plug fits between the bracket and the camera?
base704 0 #16 January 19, 2003 Very nicely. When I get a chance, I'll get a pic...You can get a lot more done with a kind word and a gun than with a kind word alone.
lister 0 #17 January 21, 2003 By the way the previous versions of the Sony Pc series are convieniently places on the left of the camera. With the PC101 you have to go through the helmet to get to the port.
base704 0 #18 January 21, 2003 You don't have to... I initially had mine hooked up with all the wiring just neatly taped down to the outside of the helmet...realized it just wasn't neat enough for me.You can get a lot more done with a kind word and a gun than with a kind word alone. OmriMon 0 #19 January 21, 2003 i was thinkin the same thing till i saw base's setup. i then tried it on my setup and theres just enough space btween the helmet and the camera for the plug to fit, now i just have to save up some money for the cameye
base704 0 #20 January 21, 2003 yep... just gotta plug the cameye in before ya lock down the camera...not a big dealYou can get a lot more done with a kind word and a gun than with a kind word alone.
TheMonkey 0 #21 January 21, 2003 why the pipewrap instead of gaffers tape??? --------------------- Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience!
base704 0 #22 January 21, 2003 'Twas the most feasible option of what was available at the time...I really don't think it makes a fuck...it ain't goin' nowhere... If it really bothers you, epoxy the switch to the helmet, and forget about it...I personally didn't do so, as a cameye malfunction requiring replacement as the fix is not out of the question...You can get a lot more done with a kind word and a gun than with a kind word alone. OmriMon 0 #23 January 21, 2003 one one thing, did u have to modify the switch so u could stick the lil button out of the helmet or the switch is the same way as u bought it?
Deuce 1 #24 January 21, 2003 The top part of the switch can be pried right off. That leaves enough of the red button to get through the wall of the helmet.
tictoc 0 #25 January 21, 2003 I did kinda the same thing to my DaBome. But I didn't remove the cap. I made a bigger hole so that the ridge of the eyecam would hold it self in place. But I also pland on it being a prmenat part of the helmet so I didn't care about the size of the hole.-------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. But if you go be sure you can make it back.
