chachi 0 #1 February 3, 2003 Was just hoping to get some quick feedback before I bought this camera. ANyone heard anything bad or missing on this camera before I go out and buy it. Quade if you wouldnt mind chipping in that would be great. ~Chachi
quade 4 #2 February 3, 2003 I didn't know they were still available! I think the TRV18 would be a great starter miniDV camera. Just about right for anyone wanting to start out in camera flying. Should perform just fine for top mount. Is this new in box or used?quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
rmcvey 0 #3 February 3, 2003 I bought a trv 16 ( i didnt think it was worth an extra £100 for a memory stick, which i dont want) Its virtually the same camera, except the memory stick and a slightly smaller LCD screen. Will need top mounting, and like quade said its a great starter camera.
PhreeZone 20 #4 February 3, 2003 Memory stick rocks for taking direct frame grabs off the DV tape and not haivng to use a computer to get them, how are you getting frame grabs?Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
rmcvey 0 #5 February 3, 2003 Im not quite sure what you mean by frame grabs, but im guessing you mean taking a digital still from the tape. In which case i use the USB cable and Paintshop. Is this what you meant??
PhreeZone 20 #6 February 3, 2003 Yeah.. with the Memory stick you just play the tape hit the photo button when you want it copyed to the memory and your done. Hook up the camera to any PC and the memory stick shows up as a nother drive that you just copy and paste the picture from.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
chachi 0 #7 February 4, 2003 Thanks for the info guys and thanks for the PMing Quade. Just want to mention that I love the detail and time that the camera flyers spent to answer questions and teach people they don;t even know. Classy sport and classy guys I've ran into here. Kudos to you all. ~Chachi
