skydiven4fun 0 #1 February 10, 2003 Does anyone out there use a Sony PC 7 for skydiving and if so is there a helmit or box that is made for it's use. I found a good deal on a used one and was wondering about this prior to buying it.Still here after all these years Clayton
jayhfx 0 #2 February 10, 2003 I use a PC7 and have a bonehead d-box. I believe they don't make them anymore for the PC7 but I'm sure you can still get a roll cage from some of the suppliers. peace
skreamer 1 #3 February 10, 2003 You can still buy a PC7 rollcage from Aerial Focus (Tom Sanders' company). I just bought a PC7 second hand as well - really robust cameras. Will
meerkatt 0 #4 February 12, 2003 I use a pc7 as a full time tandem camera. My unit has done about 500 jumps without too much drama... a good solid camera. BUT... it is old skool, no effects, doesnt handle poor lighting as well as newer units. The weak points are the lens assembly and two sets of wires - one in the control cover and the set that links the flip out screen. Do get a cage of some sort, use the screen as little as possible, and leave tapes in the unit as much as possible,ie;dont change tapes unnecessarily. good luck blue skys
