bigG 0 #1 February 11, 2003 Just heard form someone that quick release cut away systems will be made mandatory on Camera Helmets on most US dropzones soon. It is true?? any one??
quade 4 #2 February 11, 2003 I don't see how that could possibly be true. It -is- true in other parts of the planet and some helmet manufacturer's (such as Bonehead) are already building cutaway systems for THAT, but as far as it being mandatory in the US -- I don't think so.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
alain 0 #3 February 11, 2003 true in France (for french jumpers only, allways the same insurance reason). No problem for foreigners jumping on french DZ. Alain
Deuce 1 #4 February 11, 2003 Ugh. How do I loathe the "M" word, let me count the ways...... I am big on safety, and choose to buy and fly the safest stuff I can afford, but don't make it mandatory. One of the absolutely coolest things about skydiving is that it is mostly self-regulating. I'll strive to keep it that way. JP
TattooedMoFo 0 #5 February 11, 2003 At the Swedish Freefly festival it is mandatory to have a cutaway system which they test when you join them on the first day of you jumping at the festival.
