Step up Ring for a PC101?

I just pulled the trigger and bought a PC101

Now I need a lens, what mm are the threads?

37? or 30?

Pc101 is 30mm. It should come with a cheap plastic step up ring.

Conversely, if he buys a Sony wide angle lens (sorry 0.6 only) then he can get it in the right thread diameter to begin with and forget about a step-up ring.

BTW, the Sony 0.6 is wider than some other manufacturer's 0.42. Adding a step up ring also tends to narrow the lens a bit.

I am clueless on all this, but I don't want to waste money buying less than the best.

You may want to go to a store and try out several different options.

I know for a fact that the Sony 0.6 on a TRV8 is wider than at least one Kenko 0.42 we've tested in the past on the same camera.

Different cameras and lenses will react differently.

If you can, go to a store and try out several.

Mine didn't come with a ring but I purchased it back in late August.
