quade 4 #26 June 8, 2003 I thought camera helmets in the UK had to have a cutaway system. Is that incorrect?quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
madflying 0 #27 June 8, 2003 Hi there.... Yes a cutway system is required, but if you look at one of the pic from the front you can see it just on the right hand side of the chin-cup, it is a sort of new device..... from, i think, a swiss company that makes helmet for hockey....... quade 4 #28 June 8, 2003 On the right hand side? All I see there is a bolt! On the left hand side I see what looks like a little black plastic latch. Is that it? Could you show me a close-up? I'd love to see any new type of latch.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

quade 4 #30 June 8, 2003 Cool! Way more leverage than the old style buckles I have on my chin cup.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
oldgit 0 #31 June 8, 2003 A cutaway system on camera helmets is not mandatory in the UK although some DZ make it a local rule John
freeflydrew 0 #32 June 9, 2003 Check out the RAWA helmet... I think it's one of the best helmets out there... Everyone, literally everyone, in Brazil jumps with a RAWA helmet, and it's quickly make it's way across the US. The Hawkeye, the Optik, and the Batrak are each nice also, but the RAWA is really a cut above the rest... It comes with a box attached to it which will custom fit which ever camera you have. It's comfortable, safe, and looks cool, too. You'll see! If you're going to jump with a camera, you should buy a helmet that's made for a camera, instead of rigging a helmet to hold a camera. If you do jump the custom job, make sure to use lots of gaffers tape... Blue Skies
