Kuper 0 #1 March 14, 2003 i want to buy some goggles, and not to take the one of the DZ's everytime... what do u prefer and why (kroop goggles or those 'ski look' goggles - like Blaze etc.) ???? (i hope the fact that i havn't a helmet of mine yet doesn't change...) i'll appreciate your answer, thanx Ori.http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
aufreefly 0 #2 March 14, 2003 Neither...wherever you can find cheap gas-station priced sunglasses, try them on. Make sure they are tight at the top, attach a sunglasses strap and jump with the sunglasses. I haven't worn goggles since I had 20 jumps. But if you really must have goggles I like the kroops
skybytch 273 #3 March 14, 2003 I use FlexZ's. They're more expensive than Kroops, but they last five times as long. Flexible soft plastic takes scratches without showing them, doesn't crack and can be stuffed in a pocket and come back out ready to go. No loss of peripheral vision either. Clownburner 0 #4 March 14, 2003 I'm a newbie and so totally ignorant here, but I'll second that recommendation; the FlexZ's are the best goggles I've used for any sport!7CP#1 | BTR#2 | Payaso en fuego Rodriguez "I want hot chicks in my boobies!"- McBeth
CrazyIvan 0 #5 March 14, 2003 Speaking of googles, does anyone of you guys wear 'prescription' googles?, I'm thinking in purchasing a pair from SportRx, and I'd like to hear some opinions. flyingferret 0 #6 March 14, 2003 I use 'ski' googles with colored frames. http://secure.mediafusiontech.com/aerostore/Shopping/ItemImage.asp?Image=130 $12.00 I thought about prescription, but intend to get Lasic sooner or later. A lot of freefliers and swoopers are using Gatorz with sunglasses straps, but I dont want to spend $100+ http://www.gatorz.com/-- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI. Kuper 0 #7 March 14, 2003 1. are the googles with the small holes on their sides. right? 2. if the price of FlexZ's is the same as 'Blaze' or any other 'ski look' goggles ? does anyone knows if it's possible to buy them (FlexZ's) in any sport store in the US (cause i want to ask a friend there to buy for me)...http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
DYEVOUT 0 #8 March 14, 2003 Have your friend call Square One, he/she might even get to talk to a genuine Womens Formation record-holding greenie - LIVE !! Plus, they ship fast. Even if you buy small stuff. ----------------=8^)---------------------- "I think that was the wrong tennis court."

I have a pair of SportRX G-107s done in the same prescription of my glasses. The work good for me. There is a little distortion around the edges of the goggles, but that might be because my prescription is actually a little bit beyond the recommended maximum. Also, you can expect the reduction in peripheral vision that comes with any goggle in that style.
brabzzz 0 #10 March 15, 2003 Hmmm. Just a question about the cheap-sunglasses-and-strap idea. I assumed the idea was to keep the wind out of the eyes and avoid having to squint. Won't in just come screaming round the open edges all the way around in RW, yet alone FF? dmddave 0 #11 March 17, 2003 I have the Lane goggles from Square One and they are the best I've found yet. Much better than Kroops.
mountainman 0 #12 March 17, 2003 I have 2 pairs of those mini FlexZs and the outside plastic "rims" are totally falling off. How long have you guys found these to last ? I am wanting to buy another pair of something else because these are just crappy.http://www.brandonandlaura.com

skybytch 273 #14 March 17, 2003 QuoteHow long have you guys found these to last ? I get about 50 jumps out of a pair, which is way more than I ever got out of a pair of Kroops.
mountainman 0 #15 March 17, 2003 Hmm. I bought 2 pair and have put (about) 20 jumps or so on each and they are really falling apart. That sucks. I think I'm going to have to go with something else. Has anyone tried those sunglasses looking type that have the harder foam around the edges ? Those looks pretty good.http://www.brandonandlaura.com
SkydiveMonkey 0 #16 March 17, 2003 I don't rate Kroops at all. The first jump I put on my new ones, I had them tight in the plane, at 4500 feet they were over my head in freefall. They lasted about 10 more jumps then fell to pieces.____________________ Say no to subliminal messages
