chachi 0 #1 May 6, 2003 Anyone know what the makers of CamEyes do when you have the old one and you discover it won't work with your new Sony. I sent them an email but so far have not heard anything back. Has anyone had customer service dealings with them? ~Chachi
r2hubert 0 #2 May 9, 2003 You send back your old cameye and they give you the latest one. I didn't do it when I notice some bugs with my PC101 because I need my Cameye evey WE But sometimes I really fell that I'm going to buy a new one so I will not have to worry about my camera shutting down without any way to turn it on again Check out the webiste it got all the info you need http://www.skytools.m.se/ and they are really cool when you send them emails! -- Renaud SMA #9 "Mind is like parachute. chachi 0 #3 May 9, 2003 Well, what they did is give me a 30% discount off a new one. I'm not sure I am exactly happy with this. I kept my product in 100% condition, I almost think they should replace it. Plus they are making me send it first even though I gave them my cc over email to send it out first. You would think they would just trust me to send it back seeing as they are maiking money on it anyway. Anyone else have an opinion on this. ~Chachi
quade 4 #4 May 9, 2003 QuoteAnyone else have an opinion on this. Yeah, but I don't think you're going to like it. Companies are usually responsible for backward compatability, but since they usually can't see into the future, they shouldn't be held responsible for third party changes in software in the FUTURE. In this particular case, Sony changed something and it affected the way the CamEye interacts with the camera -- it's certainly not SkyTools' fault. As for making you send in your old CamEye first, I think that's just good business on their part. I mean, come on, you could always just be -saying- that you bought a CamEye that doesn't work and how would they know unless you sent it to them. All in all, I think they're being pretty fair with you.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
skyfly 0 #5 May 12, 2003 I can understand your enthusiasm about getting the new product ASAP, but this is just good business management - think about it - the old cameye is actually being translated into money (30%) - and you DO pay before the item is shipped right ? so they DO need to get the money (in all forms and shapes) before they can actually send you the product. it sucks, but its lifes small pitholes that we either avoid, of fall into - and gotta get out cheers, in a matter of time this will just be a part of a story for you to tell others Be Simple, Be Creative, Bee! chachi 0 #6 May 12, 2003 Yeah I guess your right, I have just found alot of latittude in the past dealing with skydiving companies because I think most skydivers are really really honest. Maybe I expect to much, at least I don't have to pay full price. ~Chachi
