Faber 0 #2 May 13, 2003 hi i learned this when i took hunting licens. You should use your strong eys to do it whith. If you use your weeak eye youll do poor work.how to find out if it should be rigth or left(which is personaly) Straigth an arm toward you and point a finger straigth up.Now look at your finger by both eyes. You now know were you finger is.Then you hold the free hand to one eye.If the finger aper to move then its your "Weak"eye your looking whith. If its not moving(the finger)then its your strong eye, which you should have your sigth at. Does this make sence to you?if not ask again and i migth find another way to explain(sorry my poor english). It WERRY im portant that you use YOUR strong eye. in most cases it will be the rigth eye. freakous 0 #4 May 13, 2003 Aren't these choices the same thing. Shouldn't there be a choice for Left Dominant?
bunge 0 #5 May 13, 2003 my left eye is more dominant, so my sights on that side. BUNGE I don't hate them, I just like us better.
MrHixxx 0 #6 May 14, 2003 I am left eye dominant. So, I use my left eye... -Hixxxdeath,as men call him, ends what they call men -but beauty is more now than dying’s when
ShaggyFord 0 #7 May 14, 2003 I'm left eye dominent, but I'm right handed. It sucks for my skeet shooting cause I have to put a piece of tape over my left eye to shoot right handed and be able to shoot with both eyes open like you should. I have my ring sight over my left eye.
Casch 0 #8 May 14, 2003 I don't know if it's just me, but when I try to test my dominant eye by pointing at a distant object and closing one eye or the other, When I aim for the object, I see two semi transparent images of my hand when I'm focusing on the distant object. Neither one is more opaque than the other. So When I aim, I sort of put the target in between the images and it usually works just fine...but these tests don't seem to work for me
slayer21016 2 #9 May 14, 2003 Right Because I'm right handed. but i don't use a ring sight any more.

Sure its your dominat eye? if so i would go see if i should have glases.. Sorry mate never heard about that kind of vision before, unless the person were drunk(and i asume you were clear when you tested) Stay safe Stefan Faber
Casch 0 #11 May 16, 2003 Do you think it's possible that I just don't have a dominant eye. When you think about it, a person with a dominant eye, will only see percieve the image recieved by the dominant eye. So when they close that dominant eye while pointing at a distant object, the "hiddin" image that they could not see before is revealed. In my case, I can already see both images of my hand pointing, at the same time. Therefore there is no "Dominant" eye. I think I tend to aim with the image on the left which is seen by my right eye...but..ARRGG! Is anyone here an optometrist?!
Cajones 0 #12 May 16, 2003 I'm not an optometrist, but I am familiar with the condition you have. It is referred to as "Ambi-Eyed." It is the visual equivalent of Ambidextrious (sp?), wherein both eyes are equally dominant (or neither is dominant - if you prefer). - Cajones The laws of physics are strictly enforced. Casch 0 #13 May 16, 2003 MMMM Thank you! I thought that might be the case, but NO ONE! Not even my physics teacher has ever heard of this. It's been driving me nuts. I believe my Physics teach even said that EVERYONE has a dominant eye...I was like...b..but...wait somethings weird...which finger do I point at the object with. he's like...what? newshooter12 0 #14 May 16, 2003 to take a shot in the dark, but do you have 20/20 vision in both eyes? b/c I'd bet that if you didn't whichever eye was better would take over... or at least you'd grow to trust it more. I've noticed that since I started shooting a lot of stills and now working full-time shooting video for the past few years my right eye - dominant eye - has slightly better vision. I don't know if it's a wives' tale, but somebody told me that your eyes are muscles like the rest of your body and if you use one more then the other they tend to atrophe like a muscle would if you'd, for instance, not walk for a while... my friend and neighbor was having trouble seeing the chalkboard in school, but his optomitrist said his eyesight wasn't really bad so before he prescribed glasses had him work out his eye with some exercises he divised. Something with a bead on a string and following it w/your eye as it moves. Ok.. , but i'm going to shut up now... matt
Faber 0 #15 May 16, 2003 if you see tribel or dubel? well if so then i guess my eyes is wrong i only see one finger/hand,but it moves,if i use my left eye.. Stay safe Stefan Faber
