DVD on CD

Recommended Posts

I know there is some kind of software that allows you to put about 45 mintues of DV footage on a regular CD-R and you can play it in a DVD player. This also might just be VCD, but the one I saw had a cool menu and 45 minutes of high quality video. Anyone know what this software is and where one might acquire a copy.

You can do that with movie shop 6.0. It has another program that comes with it called Neo DVD. You can capture and edit your footage with the movie shop and then arrange the DVD or VCD with the Neo DVD. I got my copy at Best Buys. I think $89.00. Hope this helpsB|B|

yes you can make what are called vcd's (video cd) a mpeg compressed video that plays on most dvd players that can play the VCD format.

I did one as a test. I edited in premiere 6.5. once you are ready to export do it with the Adobe mpeg encoder with the vcd setting. Once you have the files mpeg-ed you import them into a program like nero burning rom to burn to cd.

There are other programs for dvd authoring you can take avi files and have them converted to the proper format for vcd and dvd production.

Don't know them all but Pinnacle Impressions will handle it including menu building. I don't know if the menus will work on the vcd but the documentation seems to say it will.
