andybr6 0 #1 March 16, 2003 Has anyone got or used a gecko helmet. I have been looking around at headgear and the gecko seems quite good value for money [though i have only seen it on the internet and in catalogues]. It would seem to stronger than a gath and only about £20 more and seems to have the advantage of being made for particuarly for skydiving. Any opinions? ------------------------------------------------ "All men can fly, but sadly, only in one direction"

SkydiveMonkey 0 #4 March 16, 2003 I had a gecko and wasn't a big fan of it. Mainly becuase of the audible port fits a old style time out, but it isn't wide enough for a protrack to fit in there easily. I got a 2k Composites FF1 after that and am very pleased with it. At least the Gecko looks very nice ..I became interested.. Was the audible fitting the only problem or was there more ? You said it isn't wide enough for a protrack to fit in there easily. But was it still doable ?
SkydiveMonkey 0 #6 March 16, 2003 It fitted, but because the port iteself has no liner, the protrack was loose in there and sat at an angle. It did however fit in the opposite side ear hold in the lining (which kind of negates the need for an audible port). At least it's on the inside, unlike a lot of helmets.____________________ Say no to subliminal messages

maretus 0 #8 March 17, 2003 I have a Gecko and have been using for about 400 jumps. I can fit Pro Dytter to the audible port very nicely, though it is a little tight. Overall i like Gecko very much and in my point of view its a nice piece of headgear.http://www.ufufreefly.com
