efs4ever 3 #1 May 16, 2003 Is the tripod socket sufficient, by itself, to keep a PC 100 / 120 attached? It's attached via a Stroboframe quick release system. Anyone had one come off mounted like that? RWRussell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com
chachi 0 #2 May 16, 2003 I have about 300 jumps with my camera attached to the top of my Flat Top Pro with only a thumbscrew and I have a strap that runs over the top of it. Holds just fine, I think when you ad a strobo on top you raise the camera up and have a great place for a line to wrap around, I think it is completely unnecessary. ~Chachi
Cajones 0 #3 May 16, 2003 Instead of a Stroboframe QR, I'd say get a BH d-box for the 120. Bolt the d-box to your top-mount, and leave it there. The camera is pretty easy in/out, is much better protected, and a bit more line/riser-strike streamlined. The laws of physics are strictly enforced. XDV 0 #4 May 16, 2003 I have my flat top pro installed with BH D-box with a PC-101 and everything is very nice, but I look foward for a TRV style
JayhawkJumper 0 #5 May 17, 2003 You could also look into the Tom Sander's Roll Cage. I've seen some nice flat tops with this mount.
Cajones 0 #6 May 17, 2003 The roll cage makes it too hard to put the camera on/off. The most useable benefit of the d-box is it makes it easy to pull the camera off very quickly/easily to change tape/batteries/shoot ground footage. - Cajones The laws of physics are strictly enforced.
