Help! can't charge battery!

Recommended Posts

Ok kids,
I've got my Coolpix I'm firing away with here in New Zealand, until I ran out of battery today. Took the other off the charger and it had nothing either. Somewhere there's a bust in my little adapter/converter or charger.

I've ot the Aus/NZ adapter on a Euro plug converter/adapter to US. The converter is TravelSmart by Franzus TS-1650, input 220-240 VAC, output 110-120VAC, for 0 - 1650Watts. Charger is Digipower with LI-Ion Battery BP-NKL1 - 7.4V 650mAh, AC adapter on Charger is AD-1350 with input of 120VAC. I'm thinking the converter is sending it 110VAC from the 220 outlets here in NZ, and it will only take 120 so that's why it's not working. I can't seem to find anyone to help, and Cajones isn't checking his email, so I'm reaching out to you photo techies for help. I'd hate to not be able to take any more photos on the 10 more days of this awesome trip. So please, let me know anything you can for me to get this charged!!!

Thank you!!!

Bungee jumping is fun. NZ is awesome.

Peace

Lew, when I was in Australia quite a while back, I was really impressed with the knowledge the folks in the electronics shops had. Most of them were way more than sales clerks. ( I know NZ isn't AUS settlers vs. convicts and all that)

I betcha the local "radio shack" will be able to fix you right up. The TV and Radio stores should be able to get you a fix ASAP.

Worst case, get the NZ version of the charger, the battery is probably the same.

Wow. Have fun! NZ is on my short list of places to see!
