Help !

Recommended Posts

Ok, I am just getting into this whole thing, I am new to shooting video and the editing process, I have Adobe Premier 6.0, But I have started out getting used to the process of time lines and audio tracks by using Windows movie maker, I am having pretty good results with movie maker and have made some pretty good finished pieces, I am using firewire and have a new Sony computor ( P 4 2.6 ) and a external 120 gig firewire drive, So I think I have the bases covered on equipment, But I am really just overwelmed with the premier software, It seems like it may just be more complicated than I really need, Does anyone have any suggestions on any other more user freindly software, Or can I continue to use movie maker and still be able to export to tape or dvd with decent results. I am having good results with this program, its pretty easy and I am not trying to make it to hollywood. But the premier gets me frustrated, Like I said I just want some decent video with music to show family and freinds.
any suggetions ?
Still here after all these years

I'm using Pinnacle Studio 8. Relatively inexpensive, lets you turn out a good product with little effort, and when you want to add additional features, all you have to do is look it up in the book. I try to learn one new technique or feature each time. Got it on EBay.
Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

Same here. Premier can be a bear until you really pound the book on it a bit. I am using Studio 8 also and it is almost idiot proof with pretty damn good results. I have never seen any tandem videos that had any effects that I couldn't duplicate with Studio 8. I know this doesn't directly help you, but you sound like you are in the same frame of mind as me with the video, (not trying to make a living or get to Hollywood) so I'd definitely consider the 8.
