Issue: shaky video
Equipment: Optic helmet by bonehead, camera box for a IP5, and a Elura MC40 minidv video camera.

i checked body position, have had others view me and said i was solid(respectivly)... What can I do to better secure the camera to ensure that it isnt moving, so I then can focus on my body position.....

Issue: shaky video

I'll assume that the camera in the box is solid and can't shake and I'll further assume the box on the helmet is likewise solid and doesn't shake. Check 'em anyway. Pack the box with foam or tape or whatever and make it so that it's impossible to move even a micron within the box.

I haven't worn the Optik so I can't say precisely what the issue may be but you really need to have the helmet on quite tight to help eliminate shaky video.

Since the Optik doesn't have a clam-shell closure like the Bat-Rak or a "bone" closure like the Flat-Top, you're going to need to make sure the helmet liner itself is pretty damn snug. If your liner is "comfortable" then it may actually be a bit too lose. It should almost feel like a vise squeezing your head -- it shouldn't be comfortable, it should be tight.

You -might- be able to compensate a bit for this by really cranking down on the chin cup. You may want it so tight it feels like your jaw bone is going to come unhinged. Just press against it with your jaw muscles and make it even tighter.

Lastly, make sure that the steady-shot option of your camera is turned on.
