bigfritz 0 #1 August 18, 2003 What's are some good skydiving videos out there? I just got into the sport and I want to order some to see what kind of crazy stuff people do. I'm used to skating videos where shoe companies, truck companies, deck companies, pretty much any company that has to due with skateboarding will sponsor a bunch of good skaters and they put out a kick ass video. Is it the same with skydiving videos? Are there really famous skydivers that everybody knows? ------------------------ Freefly, baby.
AggieDave 6 #2 August 18, 2003 There are quite a few good videos out there. Good Stuff On Clouds Edge Useless Eye Candy Out of the Blue -- this is a new one and is very kick ass! The WFFC videos are usually really good too.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
CanuckInUSA 0 #3 August 18, 2003 Assuming you're into freeflying, a couple more movies which are very good are: "Flyboyz Party Mix" and "Chronicles III". The "2001 Pond Swoop Nationals" is a great video if you're into swooping and another swooping video (I can't remember it's name) recently was released (but I haven't seen it yet). By the way, our own SkymonkeyOne (Chuck Blue) is one of the PST competitors in these swooping videos. As far as training videos are concerned, one of the best (it's a little dated, but still good) is "Breakaway" which deals with most emergencies we may expecience as skydivers. It's good to review this video every once in a while to keep you mind fresh thinking about the different sort of shit that can happen to you up there. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
Deuce 1 #4 August 18, 2003 You know, the funniest skydiving video I ever saw was in the bar at Eloy. It was out takes from blown skydives by Arizona Airspeed, and it might have been a private tape of Girard's. Hilarious stuff and great encouragement because even the very, very best blow it from time to time. It's funny too, cause Girard is way more relaxed and funny in person. With his game face on he's competition incarnate, but as a coach I've never met anybody more optimistic, positive, and encouraging. Actually my tape of the big ways at Eloy is pretty good, if only for the footage of Girard and SkyMonkeyOne nailing out points as they track away at breakoff . Check with the camera fliers at your DZ. Lots of them have private tapes of interesting stuff that they've put together, some of it is better than what's commercially available.
