bskyy 0 #1 August 18, 2003 I'm looking to buy a digital camera and would like to also be able to use it for skydiving. Is anyone using this camera? Are people using wide angle lenses on digital cameras? Would I be able to use a wide lens on this camera (if needed). How about remote shutter release capability? Thanks for any help you can offfer! (I did read other postings on cameras but didn't find anything about this particular camera.) Thanks.
bskyy 0 #2 August 19, 2003 I'm looking at the Canon Powershot s400 digital elph and the Nikon Coolpix 4300. I know some others have used the 4300 with the digisnap for skydiving. Has anyone used the Canon?
AndyMan 7 #3 August 19, 2003 I've never seen anyone using a s400 for skydiving. It does not appear to have a remote shutter, nor can you change the wide angle lens. The standard lens on these cameras is rarely even close to good enough for skydiving. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
FLamas 0 #4 August 19, 2003 Hi, I'm using an Olypus c4040 with a 0.42 wide angle lens. I had to modify the camera in order to use a remote switch but it works fine.

Has anyone used the Canon? I don't think the S400 Digital Elph is the right piece of equipment, besides the fact that there is no remote shutter functionality on it. The camera is great for vacation pictures and party pictures e.a. but it is way too slow for skydiving photography. I don't think you even get 1fps?
