Jaap 0 #1 August 19, 2003 Hello, I'm thinking about starting with video. So I’ve got to get the gear together. Reading the various threads I've definitely settled for a Sony PC or TRV camera. Searching for some low cost camera to start with, I have come across a TRV-12e and TRV-16e. Trouble is I can’t find any references to these models, and in particular an answer to the question: are they suitable for skydiving with respect to lenses, external LED’s and switches. Hopefully the community can offer me some insight into this, and the somewhat weird numbering scheme Sony uses. Thanx!Chaos, panic, & disorder - my work here is done

Trouble is, it doesn't have DV-in and it can't be activated either. Don't know the 12. BTW the 'E' stands for PAL-version. If I didn't have my 25 already, I'd buy a 19 or 22 now, really really cheap compared to the older models. Ask Henny... ciel bleu, Saskia

BTW I´m also from the Netherlands, and from the same DZ as Jaap too ciel bleu, Saskia
ltdiver 3 #5 August 20, 2003 Doh! Sorry! So many people here just spout off information, forgetting to check profiles. I should have done a double check! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
BuddhaBoy 0 #6 August 21, 2003 I had a 18e (same as the 16e but with MemoryStick) and it worked real nice to jump with. Now I have an 25e and it also works fine. It's nice to have DV-In but not necessary, depending of what you are going to use the camera for. The only thing I noticed is that the optics not go so "wide", which gives you a smaller field-of-view than some other cameras. So if you are going to buy an wide-angle lens you prob. want a little wider than usually. //Anders. -Fear not those who argue, but those who dodge.
