crapflinger2000 1 #1 August 19, 2003 OK, with regards to the product shown below: http://skyelph.homestead.com/ Does anyone have any experience with it? Functionality, picture quality (as compared to other 35mm, I know digital is better - duh). Anyone use it as their primary camera for work (i.e. AFF, Tdm stills). Anything? Anybody? Please? __________________________________________________ What would Vic Mackey do?
diablopilot 2 #2 August 19, 2003 Well leaving aside the fact that I think the camera it's self is a piece of junk, I'll just mention this: It uses APS film, nit 35mm. APS is a smaller negitive because it uses some of the space on the film to store information. Smaller negative means less space to record the image, and therefor less resolution than if the same camera used 35mm. This is the same reason profesional film photographers are often seen using medium format. Large negative means more space to record the same image, meaning higher resolution. For the amount you would spend on this you can find yourself a used Canon EOS Rebel G, or EOS Rebel 2000. Or for not too much more you can have a brand new one. They often come pachaged with a decent 28-70mm or 28-80mm lens which can be used to shoot freefall stuff just fine. Or you can buy the body and a 28mm fixed lens.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. lewmonst 0 #3 August 19, 2003 Yep, what he said. We also discussed it already in this thread. you're better off frame grabbing from video until you can get a decent SLR camera. But if you don't care about quality, the skyELPH works. peace lewhttp://www.exitshot.com
blazetailman 0 #4 August 19, 2003 lew and jp gave you other options, but it is nice convient small setup depending on your needs. If you just want to shoot for fun and not have the complexity and extra space and weight it works.
