riro 0 #1 August 26, 2003 I did just recive my blue eye wide angle lense (0.45 from Way Cool)... Before the blue eye I borrowed a 0.45 "normal" lense and made about 50 jumps with it... the first half with autofocus and the rest with landscape-setting. When I did attach the blue eye and tried it at home (still with the landscape-setting) I couldn't get it to focus at all... The only setting I can get it to focus is with auto (well... I guess manual will work to) but when jumping in autofocus-mode it's hard to get the camera to focus at all time. Anyone with ideas of why it dosen't focus with the landscape-setting? -- riro - http://www.ronnkvist.nu/gallery/
Rdutch 0 #2 August 26, 2003 Most lenses use two or more lenses, the BlueEye is one solid piece of glas, this confuses the camera and it thinks that the out of focus is in focus. You need to put it in manual and focus it yourself, then put some gaffer tape over the focus ring. Auto focus in freefall isnt really a good idea, that confuses the camera a lot, as it doesnt know what exactly it is looking at, clouds, people, ground ect. I always used infinity until I got my diamond, then I had to change to manual, with fine results. The only problem I have had is zoom, which is slightly limited. Good luck, and Im sure someone will answer with the Technical specifications of why this happens. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
MrHips 0 #3 September 5, 2003 I use a Sony PC110 with a 'Waycool' Redeye lense and this is what I find works for me. Firstly set your mode (this is where most people set their cameras to Sports Mode, the guy with the golf club in action, a faster shutter speed mode) to 'Auto Mode via the menu. Secondly press the Focus button on the right side of the camera to change it to auto focus. Ensure that you aim the camera to somewhere with a definte detailed surface eg the ground and NOT the sky. Then lastly press the focus button again and you should find that the camera has assumed a manual focus setting of 0.1m. You can now set you 'Sports Mode' again. Happy filming!
