Canon Rebel EOS ti

What do you think about the Rebel, anyone using it? Which camera do you think is the best for Tandems?

Thanks.

The EOS Rebel 2000 is apparently the lightest of the Rebel line. Mine takes great pics with tandems. Lot depends on the lens you use and how you fly with tandems. If you fly very tight with a tandem you need to go wider on the lens. Canon makes a great 24mm lens that matches up nicely with a .42 lens on a sony. Or if you are shooting a .5 on the video you would probably want a 28mm on the still.

Which is best for tandem? Just about any of the Rebel cameras will do a good job. It mainly rests on how much weight you want on your neck and what size lens you use.

I use the Rebel TI and have been happy with it. It is small and light and it takes 2.5 frames per second as compared to the Rebel 2000's or Rebel G's 1 frame per second. That was worth the extra $ to me. I can get several good exit shots with the tandem and airplane still in frame. I think you will be happy with any of the Canon Rebel line though.

I have one. It is fine.

For tandems, you could save lots of money by getting a cheaper body, since you won't be able to use most of its features anyway. Just get a cheap SLR with aperture priority, stop it down, set the lens to the hyperfocal distance and tape it there, and choose film speed based on light level. Ta da.
