Although -- in my opinion -- a fairly crappy one when buying high value items like cameras and such. Way too much misrepresentation and fraud.

I've actually had some pretty good experiences on eBay. Put together most of my camera helmet from it. Got a steal on a trv17 and rebel 2000. Only had one problem during the whole process, and it was minor.

Perhaps Paul hasn't, but I had the unfortunate experience to buy a used video camera that was represented as excellent in condition and operation. When I got it, it looked great but wasn't. The seller denied that it left his possession in that faulty working order.

The camera is being repaired right now (at my own expense).

Ebay is a good place to find gear. I've bought a couple cameras from there. Another good place to look is the actual stores like best buy. ask them for the open box items. Dirt cheap and good condition.
