lister55 0 #2 November 11, 2003 You can tape it to the outside or you can drill holes. The tape does not look as good though. If you drill you will probably have to splice the cam eye wire to get through the hole. If you do this make sure you solder it back insead of just twisting the wires together. I used the tape method and after taping my cam eye along with the tounge switch along with taping any snag points my helmet is now dubbed the Gaffer. I recomend hiding it all under the padding. I will next time.
murrays 0 #3 November 11, 2003 I have my Cameye taped to the outside of the helmet from the camera to the button. I drilled a hole near the button and passed the indicator light through it and ran the light under the padding to the front of the helmet. I have the indicator light sticking out about 1 1/2 inches from the edge of the helmet to where it is visible in my peripheral vision. I just taped the cable to the helmet at the edge of the helmet.-- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
AndyMan 7 #4 November 11, 2003 I drilled 3 holes in my cameara. One right by the camera, then two on top where I put the switch. I had to splice the cam-eye cable inbetween the plug and the switch to get it through the small holes. I reassembled the cable by twisting the ends togeather and wrapping with electrical tape. I haven't yet had any problems with the connections coming loose. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
blazetailman 0 #5 November 12, 2003 On one of my helemts I tapped a med size zip tie to the inside of the helemt and put a hole in the neoprene front that covers your fore head. Tape the cam eye to it. Its not a snap point because the plastic zip tie won't hang on any thing. It can eve work as a sight.www.canopyflightcenter.com www.skydivesac.com www.guanofreefly.com
webracer 0 #6 November 12, 2003 I have my cameye switch located just above the audible bump on my Optik. It is drilled to run the wires inside. The indicator comes out just to the side of my left eye, and is gaffer-taped inside. It sticks straight out, and even though I don't use a sight, I can see it at all times through the corner of my eye. It doesn't move around and works very well.Troy I am now free to exercise my downward mobility.
