mollusc 0 #1 March 25, 2003 Hi all. It seems like the threads here gather quite many experienced and helpful soles, therefore I would like to get your opinion before deciding what to buy. I've got this offer on a Mindwrap with Pro Track for $570. Brand new. What I had in mind in the first place was a Z1 EVO with skytronic FX priced $435. This is in Norway so prices may be somewhat higher than you are used to. What are the pros and cons exept price??
skymedic 0 #2 March 25, 2003 well customer service from bone head and L&B are the best anywhere...plus seems everytime I've seen a paratec product it seems a not well made....I've also heard more than one horror story of the skytronic too... if it were me and my money? i'd buy the bonehead and protack hands down.... SkydiveMonkey 0 #3 March 25, 2003 Trust me (), the customer service from L and B is OUTSTANDING, and the ProTrack seems a lot better than the FX. Can't say anythng about helmets, but my choice would be a bonehead over the evo anyday. ____________________ Say no to subliminal messages
Dumpster 0 #4 March 25, 2003 L&B is the way to go for AAs, hands down. Helmets- I own a Z-1 and love it, I've had it for over a year now, and have had no problems, although I have heard some negative reports on the earlier models. The features I like best are the dual AA pockets and the easy-opening face. I can open it under canopy with one hand, wearing gloves, in about one second. Closing is even easier, just flip it down and it snaps shut. I've even left the aircraft with it open, and just reached up (with two hands to keep from rolling) and flipped it shut. No biggie! On my shopping list is a MindWarp, though. I want to get an open-face for the summer months, and this would be my #1 choice, based on popular opinion, both form and fit, and customer service kudos. CrazyIvan 0 #5 March 25, 2003 I don't have an audible yet, but I'm planning in getting a ProTrack, however, I own a Mindwarp by Bonehead, excellent helmet.__________________________________________ Blue Skies and May the Force be with you.
lauril 0 #6 March 25, 2003 'nuff said, like everyone else, I'd go with the bonehead and pro-track... Buy those, you won't be dissapointed...
JYorkster 0 #7 March 25, 2003 I know it's not listed as an option, but I would go with the best of both worlds... The ZI with a Pro-Track! That's what I've got and love them both. Rock
arlo 0 #8 March 26, 2003 You're not gonna get any feedback yet on the Evo since it has basically just arrived in the US. I did try them on at the PIA Symposium in January and they are pretty bad-ass helmets. If you've ever seen a Z-1, then you'll know what the finish and composition of the Evo is. Evos are made of the same material and come in the same colors as the Z-1. I'm looking forward to getting ours in this week. I believe the price difference is about $20..Evo being the less expensive. Regarding audibles, the skytronic is a great audible for the money, but I would go ProTrack. I've had mine for about 4 yrs now and I absolutely love it. L&B are the standard for customer service...period. Too, if you like gadgets, both audibles have a computer interface and software that you can get to go with it. Hope this helps... arlo
