YM4 0 #1 November 22, 2003 My PC 5 died few weeks ago, after three long years of jumping and humidity in tropical weather. I didn't expect that lost. I wanted a few more years. I wasn't ready for that loss. Now... I'm looking to buy a new video cam, but I ain't got much money. Yes I know the PC 330 is killer but its to much money for now, I spend enough $$ on my Canon 10D, and a week after my PC5 says....NO MORE!. Is anyone out there using the new small TRV's that can recommend them or should I stick with the traditional PC's Ohh.... buy the way, Its going to be top mounted on my new mod. helmet. Thanks,"It's not the size of the dog in the fight, It's the size of the fight in the dog!"
riggerrob 643 #2 November 23, 2003 We discussed SONY's TRV 19, 22 and 33 series earlier this year on a couple of threads. The consensus was that this year's TRVs share the same picture quailty as the more expensive single-chip SONY's (IP7, etc), but the price is more reasonable. Last time I checked, some places were selling them for less than CAN$1,000. The TRV 19 takes great video but is limited by too few editing functions. The TRV 22 is great. But the TRV 33 costs more money for an insignificant improvement in picture quality. A couple of regular posters have mounted their TRV 22s on top of helmets. It took me three tries, but I managed to sew up a hand-mount for a SONY TRV 22 and almost bought the camera to fill it.
mr2mk1g 10 #3 November 28, 2003 I notice that bonehead makes a side mounting D-box for TRV series cameras. Would any one seriously consider side mounting one of these, or would it be a top mount only camera?
