rocketfeuille 0 #1 December 6, 2003 Hey everybody, A friend of mine is interested in adding still photography to his video jumps. I recommended the Canon Rebel D or D10, but both are out of his price range. What can he pick up for $600-$800 dollars that will support a remote shutter switch? Thanks for the help. airgord 1 #2 December 7, 2003 does it have to be digital? Check the archives as I think someone posted about this same thing. Sorry don't remember how long ago though. Good luck
Deuce 1 #3 December 7, 2003 The rebel D is $899. The lens interchangeability, availability of excellent flashes, and superior quality of the pictures is worth waiting and saving for. The guys with the Dimages, and the Sony megapixel cams I hang out with are all envious of the Digital Rebel/10D. They are selling and will lose the devaluation of the point and shoots. linestretch 0 #4 December 11, 2003 if this guy is just now doing this (adding a still camera), he should probably go cheap, and just a rebel 35mm. Unless he has the money to dump on something else. There is a lot more added when you put on a still, not just weight, but....well, you should get the picture. There is no need to go straight to the deep end. Start off slow, you'll get there sooner or later.my pics & stuff!
lister55 0 #5 December 11, 2003 If he is wanting to do tandem videos, I would go ahead with the 35mm. Most people dont have photo quality printers and paper, or a disk on them at all times to dump the pics to. 35mm is just eaiser to deal with at the customer level.
