Export from Windows XP Preimere 6.5/7.0 to DVtape?

Recommended Posts

Halvor, you will need to tell us (just for starters)...
What spec of PC are you using?
How much Ram.
Disc sizes, are they partitioned?
What operating system?
Camera model (in Europe some cameras can't take firewire in),
Rendering time is dependent of the amount of processing the computer has to do, this will depend on the format of the original footage, and effects/titles etc.
No effects should be virtually instantaneous, heavy effects can take days to render on basic systems.

What type of card to you have fitted, and is capture working okay?

Hiya Dave what about ya.

Halvor Dave’s right you need to give more info on your set up however if it’s taking a long time to render it’s probably because your capture setting are different from your export setting you need to keep these the same. Also when you load your project settings at the start choose the standard that suits your camera ie Pal or ntsc
For instance I use

Pal frame size 720 x 576
Frame rate 25
Quality 100%
Audio 32 or 48 khz

If you use different setting for both input and output you will have to render the entire project

Hope this helps
John

Whoa! This seems to be a whole lot more complicated than I first thought..

Let's see.. Specs.. It's a HP with a 668MHz intel processor and 256Mb RAM.
It has a 20Gb disc, partitioned in 2 (10Gb each).
I run a Windows XP, with SP1.
Cameras: I have two: Sony DCR-PC9E and DCR-TRV900E, both PAL

I think the firewirecard is a Quantum Fireball and capture works OK.

Thanx guys! I really appreciate this!
