Krishan 0 #1 December 17, 2003 Have those of you who use the Stroboframe Quick Release brackets noticed that the plate that clicks into the mount isnt completely snug when engaged? There is quite a bit of wiggle in mine. Makes me a little nervous to mount my new Digi Rebel to it. Do any of you use anything else to hold it to the helmet? Have any of you experienced this? If so, have you done something to make it more snug or has it worked fine as is? Dont f#%k up......
GraficO 0 #2 December 17, 2003 Krishan, I'll be at the DZ Saturday... lets look at it and see what's going on. Mine doesn't move a bit... GraficOGraficO "A Mind is a terrible thing to taste."
jdhill 0 #3 December 17, 2003 Take another look to make sure it is fully engaged... none of mine move at all (and I have several)... every once in a whie, I'll need to make sure it is all the way engaged, but one it is, there is no movement. skydivejersey 0 #5 December 17, 2003 I had this problem but found that a bit of electrical tape folded over the edges on the helmet that are gripped by the catch solved this.
psw097 0 #6 December 17, 2003 I found that a couple of the screws were loose when I got mine - new. Check the screws that stand the top plate off from the release. After tightening them down most of the play is gone - there is still some play but nothing that concerns me. I still use elastic over the fiberglass 1/2 box but that is more for the box than the camera.
Krishan 0 #7 December 17, 2003 Well the screws in the mounting bracket were quite loose, tightened those, but that wasnt the problem. I ended up adding some gaffers tape to the inside of the pieces that clamp down on the plate that is attached to the camera. Picture attached. That seems to have done the trick. Lets hope it works out. Thanks for everyone's help.
skydivejersey 0 #8 December 17, 2003 That exactly what I did. The only thing I found is that it pays to just push the clip closed a little to make sure the grip is tight.
BETO74 0 #9 December 17, 2003 Once you tigh the screws on the back the plate won't wiggle. What I have found is the screw on the plate wiggle a litle if you don't put that litle piece of foam on top. The other way you can you is get an anti-twist plate. http://web.mac.com/ac057a/iWeb/AC057A/H0M3.html
skydivejersey 0 #10 December 19, 2003 You can tighten the screws but ultimately they just stop the release mechanism and I still had play.
